Celebrating a showcase of 13 short films exclusively from the Top of the South Island, the Maungatapu Heartland Screening includes German drama in the Wrong Assumptions, the Tarantino-esque Quicksand, and the confronting confessions of a sufferer of epileptic seizures in A Little Shaky.

The same films will screen on both Friday and Saturday’s session. Saturday’s screenings are concluded with a short award ceremony in recognition of filmmaking excellence.

Kahurangi refers to something precious, as are these 16 short films exclusively from the Top of the South Island. Expect to be charmed by period drama in Ballard of Deadmans Creek, entertained by Gertrude’s High Tea, and smile at thought-provoking comedy Lost for Words.
